Parliament Panthers

Registration for Parliament Winter Swim is open to all age groups! It is strongly recommended that swimmers are able to swim at least one 25 unassisted.

Practices will be held at Audrey Moore Rec Center on Sunday evenings, 7-8 p.m., from September 2026 through May 2027.  

Our Parliament Winter Swim objectives are:

1) developing and improving stroke technique, including moving towards and/or achieving legal strokes, in each swimmer;

2) strengthening swimmers’ skills in starts and turns as age applicable;

3) developing endurance, specifically as it relates to swimmers making the transition from the mini program to the 8U age group and 8U to the 9-10 age group;

4) developing confidence in each swimmer.

Practices will combine skill development with opportunities to have fun and build community.

Coaching for the Parliament Winter Swim program will be provided Andy Burnett along with our Junior Coaches.

Cost per swimmer is $300, payable via Swimtopia, cash, or check (payable to Parliament Swim & Dive).  All payments are due the first winter swim practice.  Practices are set to take place from September to May on the following Sundays from 7-8pm at Audrey Moore ReCenter.

Equipment Required:

Each swimmer must bring their own swim gear, goggles & kickboard.  Fins are recommended but not required.  Swimmers, particularly those with long hair, are encouraged but not required to wear a swim cap to practice.

Emergency cancellations due to weather or facility closure will be communicated should the need arise.  Any non-emergency changes to the winter swim schedule will be communicated to families as soon as information is available and as far in advance as possible.
